KHONSA, May 13: Orientation training cum sensitization meeting on National Program for Prevention and Control of Deafness (NPPCD) and National Programme for Health Care of Elderly (NPHCE) was organized at General Hospital Khonsa under the supervision of DPO Dr P Rakshit along with the staff of NCD on May 12 last.

Addressing the participants, DM0 in charge Dr O Taggu spoke on deafness related problems and its preventive methods. He stressed on well planned programme and also urged the members to cooperate with each other to work for prevention and control of deafness related problems in society.

Medical Superintended, Dr K Socia spoke about old-age related problems and urged everyone to respect the elders and support them with all sort of medical assistance.

The programme was also attended by medical officers, chief matron and nurses of various CHC, PHC of Tirap district.

DPO Dr K Rakshit highlighted on implementation of both the programmes and sought full support from all grade officers in mobilising the programme successfully.
