Sagalee, Oct 24: A three-day ‘Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) on Organic Grower’ under Prime Minister's Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) was conducted by Spices Board, Divisional Office Itanagar for 47 participants from Apop village here at ADC Building from October 15-17 last.
The training programme which is a flagship scheme of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), GoI to develop, improve and certify skills of the youths to enable them to secure better livelihoods was inaugurated by ADC, Sagalee S Lowan. It is the first RPL training programme to be conducted by Spices Board Divisional Office in Arunachal Pradesh for capacity building and skill certification of the participants as Organic Growers. The training programme aimed at fully equipping them with the principles and components of organic farming, crop diversification, identification and arrangement of inputs, marketing, basic entrepreneurial skills and safety measures at work place. Coordinator of the programme was Assistant Director, SB DO Itanagar, Anan Debbarma facilitated by Field Officer, Vevotalu Rhakho as trainer and accompanied by Spices Board Extension Trainees Tudeng Panggeng and Taku Obing.
First day of the training was theoretical, touching the basic concepts of organic farming, management, uses etc followed by practical preparation of organic manures and solutions on 2nd day and assessment by third party agency on the last day. SB DO Itanagar PR
