ZIRO, Jan 17: The department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, (LM&CA) Ziro conducted a surprise inspection today and booked as many as 12 traders for violating Legal Metrology Act 2009. The mobile inspection team was led by Kesang Tashi, Inspector, LM&CA Ziro.
While 11 traders were booked for violating weight and measures law, one was booked under package commodity rules for not displaying mandatory declaration on retail packages and selling above MRP.
The traders were educated on Legal Metrology Laws and need to get weight and measures verified and renewed when due.
