ITANAGAR, May 5: A day-long workshop on the scope and opportunities of tourism was organised today by the HRD wing of state’s Department of Tourism here at State Food Craft Institute near IG Park.
Various tourism experts shared their ideas and highlighted the opportunities that are available in this sector. Director in-charge of Dirang based National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Captain Amit Singh highlighted the scope of mountaineering and adventure activities in the state. Chairman Jett Wings Group of Institutes Sanjay Aditya Singh focussed on the use and importance of information and technology in developing tourism in the state and stressed on involving the local communities in making tourism successful.
Faculty of IHM Guwahati Bikram Sen said that various courses will be undertaken by the institute for the students of Arunachal Pradesh. Representing Food Craft Institute, Nagaon, Chandan Jyoti Bezbora said that the institute is ready to provide placement after completion of the courses.
Assistant Director Tourism Bengia Manna Sonam and TIOs Duyir Yedi and Danyi Mamung were also present on the occasion.
