ITANAGAR, Sep 27:   Tourism can have huge impact on overall development of the state if used properly, said Minister for Tourism , Jarkar Gamlin  while attending  the World Tourism Day celebration organized  by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with Arunachal  Literature  & Art Festival at  Dorjee Khandu State Convention hall here today.
Gamlin further informed that this year, the department has decided to celebrate the WTD with a different approach on the theme ‘Tourism and Digital Transformation.’ Moreover, the department has invited artists, photographers, poets, students, stakeholders like Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operator Association, Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation and others to give a creative outlook to the Tourism sector, he added.

“Apart from WTD, this year Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with  state government and other central Ministries as well as stakeholders has organized “Paryatan Parv”  across the country  from September 16 to 27  with an objective  of drawing  focus on the benefits of tourism showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing  the principle of “Tourism for All,” stated Gamlin.

While speaking to media, President APPTF,   Dobing Sonam appreciated the department for observing the event in a creative way by collaborating with Arunachal Literature and Art festival.  He also urged the citizens to maintain clean and green environment as well as hospitable nature to boost the tourism industry.
To mark the day, photo exhibition, showcasing of local cuisine, poetry performance, talks on the history of tourism and other events were also held.
