NAMPONG, Jan 21: State Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang D. Sona today while inaugurating the second day of the Pangsau Pass International Festival here said that the best investment for growth of tourism is nothing but good behaviour and welcoming nature of local people towards visitors.
Lauding the people of Changlang district especially Nampong area for making the erstwhile Pangsau Pass Winter Festival a bigger and better one, Sona opined that tourism grows not because of place or its culture but with the constant efforts put together by its people.
“I'm elated to see the festival is gaining popularity while boosting the tourism potential of area," he added. “Tourism sector is like an inflated balloon, one prick and it's gone,” Speaker said while highlighting the delicate nature of the industry. Reiterating that tourism is one of the industries in Arunachal Pradesh which will create livelihoods for the people and change the economy, Sona exhorted all especially youths to strive hard for its growth. He also lauded the local MLA Laisam Simai present on the occasion for working hard for development of tourism and other sectors in the area.
Earlier, DC Changlang R.K. Sharma, SP M Gambo and other officers received the Speaker at the tourist lodge at Jairampur where he was offered guard of honour by the APP.
