Khonsa, Jun 18: Tirap’s first Covid-19 positive patient, a girl who returned from Chennai and undergoing treatment here at the CCC (Covid Care Centre) was discharged on Thursday after her tests came out negative consecutively.
The girl along with two others were initially under facility quarantine and after her swab sample tested positive she was immediately shifted to the CCC at Khonsa General Hospital on the same night.
DC Tirap Bhanu Prabha, SP Kardak Riba and District Medical Officer Dr. K. Mossang on behalf of the people of the district and the state wished the Covid survivor all the best in her future endeavours and gave away the CCC discharge certificate in a small felicitation ceremony. Congratulating the girl on her victory over the deadly virus, DC advised her to strictly follow the mandatory 14-day home quarantine and adhere to the SOPs and be an example to society. She also thanked the frontline health workers, police and all those who supported the patient during the road to recovery.
Later, she was escorted to her village by Magistrate D.K. Thungdok and Tirap police and handed over to her parents who thanked the DA and police including the ‘Team Tirap Fights Covid-19’ for the support.
The villagers have already made a quarantine centre where the recovered patient will spend the home quarantine period. DIPRO
