Deomali, Apr 24: Displaying an exemplary instance of solidarity with the state’s frontline workers fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, Kamran Kanglom, a Class XII student of Ramakrisna Mission School, Narottam Nagar, Deomali has donated his Swami Vivekananda Birth Sesquicentennial Award of Rs. 5000 which he earned for securing the 1st position in CBSE Class-X Exam in 2017-18.
The amount was handed over to the General Secretary, ATDSU (All Tirap District Students’ Union) Priyang Pumo in presence of union member Butwang Lowang towards fight against the pandemic. 
A meritorious student, 18-year old Kamran is the son of Kamkho Kanglom (father) and Toinyak Kanglom (mother) and is a permanent resident of Soha village in Tirap district. ATDSU is voluntarily and actively helping the local administration and police in corona combat efforts.
It is worth mentioning Kamran’s parents also run  an NGO ‘Our Charitable Hands’ which is involved in various charity works in Deomali area. The NGO has been providing food items to the poor and needy daily wage earners and students from the nearby districts stranded in Deomali due to the lockdown. It had contributed edible commodities such as 90 kg rice and 40 kg potato to the stranded students of Longding and Changlang districts as well as students from the Khonsa area of Wangcha Rajkumar Government College which benefitted around 20 students.The distribution process was headed by Assistant General Secretary of the college Khinwang Lowang.  
While receiving the contribution, ATDSU General Secretary on behalf of the union extended heartfelt gratitude to Kamran and praised the NGO for its help. DIPRO
