Khonsa, Mar 3: In continuation with the arrest made a day earlier, Tirap police had arrested two more accused relating to the extortion cases in the district who were the accomplices of the principal accused Md. Karim Khan alias Kalu.
The duo have been booked in KSA PS C/No 10/2020 U/S 384/506 IPC R/W Section 10/13 UA(P) Act. They were running an extortion racket since many days in Khonsa township and villages in the district.
The accused arrested have been identified as Md. Ibrahim Ali alias Imran Ali, 24 years, s/o Md. Abdul Suban, originally from Lakhimpur and currently residing near Town Middle School, Khonsa working as a mechanic and Juphan Ketok, 32 years, s/o late Chato Ketok from Village Kheti and working as a casual labour at PHED office, Khonsa.
SP Kardak praised the Tirap police team headed by OC W. Kamhua and the people of the district for extending constant cooperation to nab the extortionists, drugs peddlers etc. SP further appealed the people of Khonsa township in particular to extend more cooperation to restore peace in the region.
