ITANAGAR, Mar 22: Longtime Congress member and one of the contenders for MLA seat in 13-Itanagar constituency, Taba Thomas today resigned from the primary membership from the party after he was denied party ticket and joined Janata Dal (Secular) in a mass joining programme at his Sonajuli residence.
The INC party has fielded a new candidate, Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA), president, Yumlam Achung to contest from Itanagar for the coming assembly polls.
Thomas while interacting with media persons said that development of infrastructure, road communication and education will be the three main points on his agenda.
Asserting that he is not disheartened at being overlooked for INC party ticket despite his dedicated services to the party for more than a decade, he added "my will to win the election has become stronger than ever".
He also said that the constant encouragement, moral support given by the public has encouraged him to contest the election.
"It was not my choice but it is the decision of public who despite the denial of INC ticket never gave up on me and my vision," he asserted.
