TEZU, Dec 29: Aiming for a major facelift of the link road and for adding to the citizens’ convenience here at the township, Public Works Department (PWD) has taken a proactive approach in repairing the potholes of the road.
When asked about the maintenance of road network in the township, local legislator Karikho Kri said he has given top priority to upkeep the roads which are in dilapidated conditions. “We have maintained the bypass road from NH-13 to Telluliang, Civil Supply Colony and other pothole-ridden roads needing attention and carried out phase-wise covering of the entire township,” Kri asserted. Disclosing the status of the road network, EE PWD Tamut Gao said that the department has been working and renovating the link road after elaborate consultation with the MLA and whatever fund that had been received are being used according to the requirement and quantum of damages.
Tezu is one of the oldest township of the erstwhile Lohit district before bifurcation and although being well-planned and beautiful, its link roads over the years had developed potholes and craters due to lack of maintenance causing much inconvenience to the citizens. Fresh blacktopping and renovation of the road has virtually promoted the beauty of the township.
