Itanagar, May 28: Education Minister Taba Tedir on Thursday visited the State Quarantine Centre, Lekhi to take stock of its preparedness.
After interacting with the officers monitoring the different counters set up for registration, sample testing, etc., Tedir convened a meeting with the HoDs wherein he discussed the modalities for early functioning of the whole complex. While lauding the frontline workers for their tieless efforts, he also reminding the rise of Covid cases in the country and underscored the need for getting more proactive in containing the virus. The Minister asked the Works Departments including UD, PHE, Power etc to ensure availability of all basic facilities like water, electricity etc. and urged the UD department to complete the pending repair and maintenance works as early as possible to make the entire complex functional. 
EE IMC Er Tadar Tarang briefed about the sanitisation works being carried out. Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom informed that administration, police, health and works departments are working 24x7 in a collaborative manner to ensure availability of all required services adhering strictly to the SOPs. He further informed that the SQC has a capacity of 403 rooms and is currently functional with the entry of 18 returnees undergoing quarantine periods.
