PASIGHAT, Jun 23:  State Education Minister, Er. Taba Tedir in his maiden visit to East Siang District after assuming office inspected the state’s oldest college, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat besides visiting premises/sites of Arunachal University and Polytechnic College on Saturday.
While inspecting the premises and infrastructures of JNC including the on-going additional classroom construction project, Tadir appreciated the effort of  Principal of the college, Dr. Milorai Modi for maintaining the college in a proper way. “I have been hearing about JNC since our childhood for this being the oldest college of the state established way back in 1964 whereas the first school in our area was established only in 1971. So, I had the desire to visit this college since long and today while attending a programme of Adi Baane Kebang got the chance to visit it”, added Tedir.
Taking serious note for early completion of additional classrooms, the Education Minister asked the engineers and contractors concerned to complete the construction work within the stipulated period. He also assured for early functionalization of the state’s lone Sainik School established here in East Siang District at Niglok under Ruksin Sub-Division. Agreeing with the need to stop rampant encroachment of education/school land by individuals including government employees from the same education department, he urged the ABK to play a major role in stopping such encroachments within their jurisdiction for the larger welfare of society.
