ITANAGAR, Oct 9: Today at an impressive function with a line up of around 150 cars and bikes the Raid de Himalaya was flagged off from Leh, Ladakh. Returning after a gap of one year Team Arunachal led by Lhakpa  Tsering and co driven by Venu Rameshkumar was flagged off as the prestigious competition No 2. The duo will drive the latest technology driven  futuristic machine from Polaris USA. Having won the 2015 edition of the toughest rally in the country and amongst the top ten toughest in the world, the duo will traverse more than 1500 kms in the toughest and coldest terrain of India, the Greater Himalayas of Ladakh.
Partly sponsored by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Orange Festival of Adventure and Music promoter, precision Powersports Guwahati, on Wednesday the rally will head into Drass the second coldest inhabited place on earth with temperatures touching minus 40 in winters and onto Zanskar over the next 5 days.
Team Mahindra is the toughest competition for Team Arunachal.
