ITANAGAR, Sep 21: A one day workshop cum training   on  Mathematics  for teachers organized by Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T), Department of Science & Technology was held today at Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre, IG Park, Itanagar.
 
Inaugurating the day long programme, Joint Director APSCS&T Dr. Debajit Mahanta said the present age is an era of skill-development and innovations, so mathematics will assist the students to  reach the unreached. ‘Mathematics offers rationality to our thoughts and is a tool in our hands to make our life simpler and easier,' he added.
 
Addressing the gathering,  Deputy Director APSCS&T,  P Lombi elaborated the motto of the workshop and urged the teachers to get together and try to find out various ways to motivate the students to love mathematics as any other subject. 
A child can learn things if it feels that it is interesting, added Lombi.
 
Associate Professor of  Tezpur University, Assam Dr. Bhim Prasad Sarmah attended the workshop as  Resource Person. Atleast 25 participants from 16 Schools (11 Government Schools and 5 private schools) attended the workshop.
 
Among others Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre Itanagar Curator Dr. Vivek Kumar, Education Assistant Gem Peri also spoke and participated in the day long workshop cum  training.
