TEZU, Aug 1: Displaying an exemplary humanitarian gesture, Rina Singh, a teacher of the Government Higher Secondary School, Tezu has come forward to bear the expenses of building a washroom and a ramp for a lone physically challenged student of the school.
Rina Singh who works as a Trained Graduate Teacher in the school besides being the NCC Girls’ Captain said that absence of proper washroom facilities for physically challenged students had appalled her since joining. Kavita Singh, for whom this facility has been made is a student of Class XI of the school and despite her physical challenge she is meritorious and had secured 74.8% in AISSCE-2019. Daughter of a widow who works as a labourer in GREF at Dimwe, Kavita cannot walk and uses a wheelchair and reaching school daily is an arduous journey of 14 km with GREF vehicle giving the conveyance support.
Appreciating the gesture, one of the teachers of the school said that this type of humanitarian example other than teaching will always contribute to the overall welfare of the school as well as students.
