ITANAGAR, Nov 11:  Unidentified group of five men wearing black mask and brandishing  weapons kidnapped a Tea Garden Manager from Namsai district on Saturday.
 
The kidnapped person has been identified as  Devopurafto Deb(40),  working as Manager in Sati Tea Estate. He was abducted from his temporary residence at  Nongtaw Village, Piyong circle of Namsai district at around 7 PM of November 10 last.
 
 Onlookers informed that the said group in camouflageand equipped with heavy arms introduced themselves as  ULFA(I) insurgent cadre. The group has demanded Rs. 3 crore as ransom money to release the abducted Manager, informed sources.
 
Sati Tea Estate  belongs to Sati Mein,  wife of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein.
 
Meanwhile Police has registered a case in  Namsai Police station  with case No. 115/18, U/S 364 (A)/365 IPC R/W 25 (1A) Arms Act/10/13 UAPA Act. Did. 10/11/18.
Security personnel have cordoned-off the area and search & rescue operation is on to rescue the abducted Manager.
