PASIGHAT, Apr 22: In a glittering church dedication programme held at Motum village under Mebo Sub-Division on Saturday, a new Church building constructed by Mebo MLA cum Advisor to Chief Minister, Lombo Tayeng in loving memory of his father, late Tosur Tayeng was handed over to Baptist Church Motum (under Adi Baptist Union) by Kamlung Mosang, Minister, Food & Civil Supplies, WRD etc, Govt of AP in the presence of Laisam Simai, Parliamentary Secretary for Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs and others.

After opening and dedication of the new Church building, a formal program was held in which Lombo Tayeng recalled the days when his father was one of the baptized members of Baptist Church Motum at the time when they were small children.

While addressing the Church members, Simai shared his opinion and said that, this construction of a church by Mebo MLA Tayeng is perhaps first in the history of Arunachal Pradesh where a single person or a family has constructed a church for all. I would like to appeal all concern to pray for us, for all the MLAs of the assembly so as to have good leadership and better governance, added Simai.

On his part, Chief Guest, Kamlung Mosang said that, we can’t buy peace of mind with money, but can be peaceful by doing good for others, as service to mankind is service to God. He recalled his days of humble beginning in politics where he had lost election twice despite which he didn’t lost hope and with little chance or no chance to contest election for the third time, he got Congress ticket and won the election.

“I embraced Christianity so as to distance my alcoholic father from alcohol during my young age when I was in Xth standard and was facing lot of embarrassing situations due to my father’s drunk behaviour”, added Mosang.
