MOPOM, Jan 19: Three villages namely Silli, Padu and Geying were merged from Katan to Mopom Community Development Block (CDB), under Upper Siang district.
Attending a public meeting here at Mopom (Adi-Pasi), convened by the villagers on Friday, Advisor to CM Lombo Tayeng said it was a long felt dream of the people adding that with the merger, developmental activities in the area will gain a new pace in all aspects. He reiterated that the government’s priority is to serve people and for the purpose of public convenience and better execution, inspection and monitoring of community rural development works and such facilities would ultimately uplift the socio economic status of the people of the area.
Tayeng also highlighted various ongoing government beneficial schemes and projects. He advised the villagers to be partner in development extending all help and cooperation to the government agencies during survey, planning and state building process. Later, he inaugurated the newly constructed community hall in presence of local MLA Olom Panyang, Organizing Chairman Ani Moyong and others.
Panyang also assured to take up infrastructure development issues with appropriate authorities on priority. He urged the people to maintain peace and tranquility for development and avail maximum benefits under “Sarkar Apke Dwar” camps.
Among others, prominent leader Mongol Yomso and ADC Mariyang, Tamik Talom also spoke on the occasion.
