Tawang, May 7: A meeting under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tawang Sang Phuntsok was conducted here at the DC conference hall on Thursday which discussed the methodology to be adhered to by the DA during lockdown 3.0.
Representatives from citizens, Tawang Monastery, NGOs and market Welfare Committees of Tawang attended the meeting and the DC conveyed gratitude to all for their cooperation during lockdown 1 & 2 and cautioned that although Arunachal Pradesh falls under green zone, it is necessary to remain careful keeping in mind the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country. He further elaborated on the relaxations as notified by the government and the dos and don’ts during third phase and conveyed gratitude to the hoteliers of Tawang who made rooms available for institutional quarantine at nominal rates ranging from Rs. 300 to 500.
SP Tawang B.Kamduk appreciated the district’s people and all active NGOs and individuals for their cooperation in implementing the first two phases of the lockdown and informed about the escort facility for the state’s stranded returnees from Bhalukpong and requested all to cooperate further in implementing lockdown 3.0 with special emphasis on compulsory usage of mask and spitting prohibition.
Padmashree awardee Lama Thupten Phuntsok on behalf of the NGOs advocated for continued restrictions on import of fresh vegetables and non-veg items from outside the state into the district and requested the secretaries of Market Welfare Committees to strictly implement the advisories. He further requested the DA to communicate lockdown 3 guidelines to the army, paramilitary and BRO authorities as many civilians work there as porters and casual workers.
