Tawang, Sep 17: Under-16 Khelo India Games & Sports was conducted by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, GoAP in collaboration with Tawang District Administration here at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium from September 14-16 last.
Around 450 school children from twelve Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary schools of Tawang district participated in various categories such as football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and athletics. GHHS Tawang won the boys football by defeating Bomba Secondary School 4-0. Lobsang Norbu from BCEF Pharmey Lungla was adjudged as the best player. Girls football was won by KGBV Pharmey, Lungla who defeated Town Secondary School Tawang 3-0. Lobsang Lhamu from KGBV Pharmey Lungla was awarded the best player title. In volleyball, Boys Higher Secondary School Tawang defeated Kendriya Vidyalaya Tawang, whereas in girls volleyball, KGBV Kangteng won the title defeating KGBV Lungla. Best volleyball player boys award was given to Nima Wangchu of HSS Tawang and Tashi Yuton from KGBV Pharmey Lungla was awarded the best girls volleyball player award.
