TAWANG, Mar 29: Social audit of schemes that were completed under MGNREGA for the financial years 2016-17 and 2017-18 in 48 Gram Panchayats under 6 Blocks of Tawang district has been finished during the current financial year by the district’s social audit unit.
This was revealed in the social audit exit conference held in the conference hall of DC Tawang chaired by the DC-cum-DPC (District Programme Coordinator) Sang Phuntsok and attended by all Programme Officers(BDOs) and officials of CD Blocks.
After reading out of the block-wise reports by the Block resource person Dawa Tashi, DC Cum DPC asked the concerned BDOs(Programme Officers) to meet up the observations given by social audit unit and show their performances.
He further instructed the POs to compulsorily link AADHAR with beneficiary job cards and issue payment slips as per instructions of the government. As citizen information board for all completed works is essential he asked the POs to ensure it.
For more employment generation DC asked the POs to focus on agricultural related works. Keeping in view the crops being destroyed by wild boar, and other wild animals, DC also asked the POs to focus on protection of agricultural fields and encourage horticulture farmers to practice walnut cultivation.
