Yachuli, Jul 9: The review meeting of the Lower Subansiri District Cooperative Development was conducted by the District Cooperative Union under the Chairmanship of Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Dairy Development etc, Er Tage Taki at Yachuli today.
The meeting was convened to review the developments taking place in Cooperative sectors, access government intervention in Cooperative development and to find out lasting solution for overall development of cooperative societies of the district.
The Agro-Horti Farmers Convention Hall was also inaugurated by Taki on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister called for unified efforts from all the marginal farmers and weavers of the district to form a strong cooperation to cope with the market demands and the competitions from technology driven large scale productions across the country.
Emphasising on the importance of maintaining a clean record with the banking sector, he said that the leaders of the cooperative societies should ensure loans are repaid timely to the banks. This will create an ambience of trust between the bankers and the co-operators,thus accelerating the growth of the cooperative sectors, he added.
Taking a note of the projects submitted by the District Cooperative Union under NCDC, the Minister also suggested for clearly projecting the returns expected from the projects.
Addressing the gathering Deputy Commissioner emphasised on creating a reliable marketing board to augment the export of all the agri-horti and textile products. 
Also underscoring the importance of technology in marketing, she said that to meet the larger demands it is necessary to scale up productions using technology, especially in the textile and handloom sectors.
“There should be no compromise on the quality of our products,” she added while imploring cooperative societies to create a niche for them in the market and create a credible business. She also advised all the cooperative societies to improve their credibility by repaying loans on time.
DRCS Gyati Kobin presented the report on development of the cooperative sectors in the district. In his deliberation he informed that there are 130 cooperative societies in the district.  Six of them namely A.P State Artisans & Weavers Cooperative. fed.ltd, Ziro Poultry Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd, Brand Arunachal MPCS Ltd, Kiwi Growers Cooperative Society, Ltd, Dilyang Diibu Multipirpose Cooperative Society Ltd and KWUI Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Ltd, Ziro have been awarded with cooperative excellent awards.
He also presented the report on government intervention in cooperative sectors of Lower Subansiri. He brought to the notice of the house the disproportionate release of funds to Lower Subansiri District despite of having the largest numbers of the cooperative societies.
The program was attended by chairman and secretaries of 17 registered Cooperative Societies, Goan Buras and Buris and public. DIPRO
