ITANAGAR, Nov 26: In the ongoing zonal qualifiers of the XVIII Tadar Tang SLFT 2019, Zone 4, 5,& 6 matches were played today.
In Zone 4 matches, West Siang defeated Lepa Rada by 2-1 in the first match of the day played at Likabali with all the goals coming in second half. Kengam Ete of W/Siang broke the deadlock for his team in 51st minute which was soon doubled by Karnya Doji (51’) and Rippak Riba scored the only goal for Lepa Rada in 71st minute. Second match of the day ended in a 1-1 draw between host Lower Siang and Shi Yomi. Rahul Saikia opened the scoring for L/Siang which was later equalized by the debutants through G. Hiba in 68th minute.
In a Zone 5 match, Lower Dibang Valley defeated host Siang by 1-0 and became the first team to qualify for the final round from the zone, with the all-important goal being scored by Andhoko Mito in 27th minute. Meanwhile, two matches were played in Zone 6. Host Lohit played a 2-2 draw against last year’s finalist, Namsai in the first match played at Tezu. Phunkro Namchoom scored a brace for Namsai while Jiroko Tayang and Enosh Mimi scored for the host. The second match also ended in a 1-1 draw between Changlang and Dibang Valley with Jowlon Singpho and Gura Mena the scorers for Changlang and Dibang Valley respectively.
Tomorrow’s matches are- Lower Siang vs Lepa Rada and Shi Yomi Vs West Siang in Zone-4. In Zone 5 Siang will take on Upper Siang and in Zone 3 there will be two matches-Dibang Valley vs Namsai and Lohit vs Changlang. APFA PR
