YINGKIONG, Mar 6: Swachh Shakti Saptah is being observed at Simong Gram Panchayat of Upper Siang District since March 3 last up to International Women’s Day with cooperation of women, so that the entire district is open defecation free by 2nd October 2019. During the celebration focus is on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in daily life. In order to highlight the role of women and recognize their leadership in Swachh Bharat Mission, Gram Panchayat wise events will honour women champions while raising awareness on construction of toilets and solid/liquid waste management.
