Ziro, Feb 6: A coordintion-cum-review meeting was held today at the office of the Deputy Commissioner Ziro, Lower Subansiri district to take stock of the implementation status of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the district. 
The Deputy Commissioner Ziro  and all heads of departments including the two nodal departments of PHE & WS Division and Urban & Housing, Ziro attended the meeting.
Initiating the discussion, the State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen, who is also the Governor’s nominee as Swachhta Prerak explained the significance and urgency to properly implement the Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Campaign) which will be a tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary in 2019. 
 He called upon the district authorities to work out action plan to be implemented within 2nd October 2019 by involving CBOs / NGOs / PRIs / GBs / students / healthworkers / anganwadis /public sector undertakings working in the disctict and media in promoting the successful implementation of the Swachhta Abhiyan. He emphasised the need to inculcate behavioural and attitudinal changes through awareness campaign on personal hygiene and environmental hygiene.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Chuku Takar in his welcome address highlighted the status of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the district followed by presentation by the Executive Engineer, PHE & WS Kago Habung and AE, UD & Housing, Ziro Division Toko Yami respectively.
The meeting decided to organise social service campaigns intensively at various vulnerable locations during the last week of February to clean up the entire surroundings of Ziro plateau taking villagers into confidence and involving all concerned.
