BOMDILA, Jan 10: In order to ensure fair and healthy practice in markets of the district, surprise check was conducted at Bomdila market on Thursday by a team of officers.
The team consisting of EAC (HQ) Sang Khandu, CO T Yangchen, DMO Dr D Wange, DF&CSO MK Chokroborty, AC T&E TN Thongdok and ACLM T Gurro apprehended five defaulters. Two of the seizures were done under the LM Act, 2009 for the non-verification of weight and measures. The other seizures were done for violation of packaged commodity rules and selling of expired goods.
Similar surprise checks were carried out by the Controller LM&CA Hoktum Ori and his team of officers of Bomdila at Kalaktang and Tenga in the district in which six cases of violation were taken into account at Kalaktang and nine at Tenga market respectively. The violations include use of stickers on the packaged commodities and non-declaration of MRP on the packaged commodity. DIPRO
