ITANAGAR, Dec 1: Arunachal colts stormed into the final of Hero Sub Junior Boys National Football Championship by defeating Kerala 2-0 in the second semi final played today at Kalyani Sports Complex, West Bengal.
The boys started the game with their usual attacking tactics and started creating chances from the beginning. Their attacking play paid off when Jacky Rampung received a beautiful assist from Damli Bomnyo and converted it into the first goal for Arunachal in the first half. Few minutes later, Mam Prema Sherpa scored second for the team. Despite many chances created by Kerala, some good defending and goalkeeping helped Arunachal to reach its second consecutive final of the championship in two years.
" It was an all round performance by our lads, everyone gave his heart out in the field. We are looking forward to do our best in the final and hopefully bring home the championship trophy for our people," said delighted state team coach , TD Wangja.
Arunachal will lock horns in the final against another northeastern state, Meghalaya on December 3 next.
