AALO, Nov 2:  The West Siang District Students’ Union, Siang District Students’ Union and Upper Siang District Students’ Union led by Lukken Gamlin, president, WSDSU, Tagu Mibang, president, SDSU and Kaming Bomong have submitted a representation to Deputy Commissioner, West Siang to direct the concerned authorities to start the road works without further delay as the three districts are badly hit by deplorable road conditions for many years.
The unions said that the said stretch of road is the lifeline of the three districts and commuters cannot bear the brunt of such condition which presently is not fit for movement of vehicles.
The Unions disclosed that the government has placed sizeable amount for the maintenance of the road which has been handed over to concerned agency and firm to carry out the repairing works but the works are yet to start even after many months of sanctioning of fund. The three unions have appealed to the concerned authority to start the maintenance work failing which they will embark on a democratic movement.
