SAGALEE, Sept 23: Hundreds of students from Government Higher Secondary School Sagalee took to the streets as a protest against shortage of teachers and submitted memorandum to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sagalee carrying a three-day ultimatum.
Holding placards and banners student shouted slogans and took out procession joined by the students members from School Management Committee (SMC). The school has shortage of subject teachers like Political Science, History and Social Science since March last. Moreover the half-yearly and Pre-board exam will also be held in coming months but the subjects’ syllabuses are yet to be started, said Vice Chairman SMC Debia Lalum.
He also added that SMC have submitted numerous memorandums to the Deputy Director of Secondary Education (DDSE) Yupia, Director of Secondary Education, Minister of Education, but no action has been taken by the authorities till date.
