PASIGHAT, Nov 23: The new initiative adopted by the State Education Department to conduct pre-board examination has left the science students of the state in a piquant situation as the JEE (mains) exam and pre-board mathematics exam fall on the same date.
“This situation has risen due to the routine clash between the pre-board and JEE (mains) exam which is being conducted simultaneously in January next. For instance, JEE’s B.E / B.Tech exams (of CBSE) is on January 9 and on the same day, state’s pre-board exam of the mathematics is also scheduled which has left all of us confused and frustrated”, said some students. They also said that preparation for competitive exam has been badly affected due to the new programme. They expressed resentment over such callous attitude of the education department which should have adopted a well thought out schedule while conducting such exams.
Meanwhile, the students and their parents have appealed to the concerned education department to look into the matter seriously and make a new schedule so that students appearing in JEE (mains) are not disturbed.
As per sources, the pre-board exam has been initiated by the concerned department to debar the non-serious students from appearing for the final board exam.
