ITANAGAR, Sep 29: In continuation with the meeting held with the state’s Community Based Organisations (CBOs) at PHQ on September 27 last in the run-up to the Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan (HAA), Home Minister Bamang Felix conducted a similar meeting here at his residence on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by the students unions headed by AAPSU, District Students Unions, RGU Students’ Union, Chandigarh Students’ Union and representatives of some Community Based Youth Organisations. Home Minister informed the participants about the objectives of Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan which will be launched on October 2 next to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He informed that HAA is a non-budgeted initiative of the state government which is open for voluntary participation of all the residents of Arunachal to supplement the efforts in containing law and order situation hand in hand with state police. MLA Hayang Mangfi and former student leader hailed the initiative of the Home Department and pledged his full support and cooperation in achieving the goals of HAA. He strongly advocated for active participation of the students and youths since they will be the actual force who can bring changes at ground level. President AAPSU, Hawa Bagang and other executive members of the Union, President of RGU Students’ Union, executive members of District Students’ Unions of Kra-Dadi, Lower Siang, Kamle, Upper Subansiri and West Kameng districts spoke on the occasion and unanimously agreed to act as ambassadors of HAA.
Meanwhile, a meeting with Ex-Councillors, Executive Members of ACCI, AAPPTF, bazar welfare committees and sector committees was also organised at the residence of the Home Minister on Sunday where Felix appealed them to become a part and parcel of HAA for the greater interest of the state. All participants highly praised the initiative and assured their full support to lead the Abhiyan from the front, besides committing to be present at the launching ceremony at I.G. Park on October 2 next.
