PASIGHAT, Feb 26: In a bid to help students in their studies, a total of 70 solar lamps were distributed for use of the students of Government Residential School, Injonu and Government Model Residential School, Mayu under Lower Dibang Valley district by the NGO AMYAA.
The programme was organized recently by the NGO with sponsorship support from SIDBI, Itanagar Branch under their CSR activities for the above two schools located in Korunu & Roing Circles respectively. 
The event was formally inaugurated by ADC, Lower Dibang Valley district Tapik Pertin at Government Residential School, Injonu with the theme “Distribution & Installation of Solar Lighting to Support Education” in presence of SIDBI Branch In charge, Itanagar Moulik De, Secretary/Chairperson, AMYAA RK Paul Chawang among others.
“Solar lamps are essential for the students and can be a better alternative to other sources of lighting during peak hours of examination in face of frequent power cuts due to natural calamities and AMYAA & SIDBI had done an admirable work in supporting education,” ADC said. In the later half, 40 such lamps were distributed for 56 students residing in the school hostel of Government Model Residential School, Mayu in presence of Headmaster Obang Gao, teachers, students and staff.
The session also provided general technical description & usage methods of the lamps.
