ITANAGAR, Sep 16:The Wancho Students Union and Longding District Students Union have expressed dismay over the arrest of innocent cardamom traders by Security Forces on September 15 in Longding district. In a joint statement it said that the five persons who were falsely accused as Over-ground workers (OGWs) of the NSCN (K) during an operation were actually cardamom traders and since released after proper documentation. 

Expressing deep concern over the false accusation, WSU president, Pongngoi Joham said that such act would instead hinder the economic activities of the area. False accusation and tagging innocent people as terrorist or OGWs is not the right way to demonstrate bravery, the release stated. 

The team further demanded assurance from the Security Forces that innocent people of Longding won't be falsely harassed in such manner in future.
