MECHUKA, Nov 4: Samten Choeling Monastery, one of the major tourist attractions of Mechuka in Shi-Yomi district added yet another feather in its cap with the inauguration of thestatue of Guru Lhuhe Rigzin byState Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona on Monday.
The statue was inaugurated in presence of Rinpoche Dzogchen Tilku Thinley Norbu, ADC Mechuka and others. Having a height of around 10 feet, it was constructed by Rinpoche Dzogchen Tilku Thinley Norbu with sponsorship from well-wishers. After the inauguration, Speaker and others offered prayers and sought blessings. Earlier, Kiba Onge highlighted the importance of the statue and explained in detail about his life story.
Meanwhile, expressing serious concern over the growing menace of garbage in township area, Speaker suggested the concerned department for setting up a waste disposal management unit and visited the proposed site along with EE PWD, AE PWD and other officials, besides directing the officers to immediately prepare a detailed project report on it.
Guru Lhuhe Rigzin is one of the most revered Gurus of Buddhist religion and inauguration of his statue is expected to attract more visitors to the monastery especially the followers of Lord Buddha. Speaker Media Cell
