TEZU, Apr 15: In a major relief to Arunachal Pradesh, the third test report of the state’s lone Covid-19 positive patient has come out to be negative.
The report received from ICMR-RMRC Dibrugarh on Tuesday has come as a good news for the entire state and Lohit district in particular.
“We have been working under extreme stress but with continued support from the state government and civil society, our team of doctors and healthcare workers kept their morale high to cope up with the situation and it’s a victory for us,” DMO Dr S Chai Pul remarked.
Echoing the same feelings, DSO Dr S Towang divulged that the swab will be sent again for further verification. As per protocol, negative report of samples collected within 24 hours has to be sent again for the fourth test for declaring a Covid-19 positive patient as “fully cured.”
Dr C Tayang also informed over reopening of normal OPD services in the hospital while following strictly all the advisories.
Meanwhile, local legislator Karikho Kri extended gratitude to the DMO and her entire team for this feat. “It’s a moment of delight for us and when the entire Tezu-Sunpura belt was in panic, the medical team has proved its efficiency,” the MLA said.
It can be recalled that the 32-year old patient, who is a non-APST and a labourer by profession in Medo under Wakro Circle in Lohit district reportedly attended the Nizamuddin event in Delhi and is currently under isolation here at the Zonal Hospital since April 2 last.
