Naharlagun, Oct 19: The Annual General Body Meeting of Ex-Servicemen Association of Arunachal Pradesh (ESMAAP) cum Legal Awareness Programme was held today here at a private hotel in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority(APSLSA).
General Secretary, ESMAAP, Captain Mimar Ete (Retd) highlighted the efforts of the association to establish the Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) to look after the grievances and welfare of the Veterans, ESM (Ex-Servicemen), Veer Naris, widows & NOK (Next-of-Kin). The association’s Vice President, Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Jilee Dada (Retd) while lamenting that Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in India without RSB till date, said that the file for creation of Sainik Welfare & RSB is languishing in the Finance Department since 2018. This is despite Governor himself being the Chief Patron of ESM in state and also a Veteran Retired Brigadier from the Indian Army, he added, besides reiterating that better compassion for fellow Veterans of Arunachal Pradesh is warranted.
Wing Commander Gyati Kago (Retd) in his presidential address encouraged the Veterans, ESM, Veer Naris, widows & NOKs to keep the morale high and live life with dignity & honour and be examples to the society. He further informed that the all-important meeting was held on October 16 last chaired by the Chief Secretary which was attended by an Officer from Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) wherein commitment was given by CS on behalf of GoAP to create the Directorate of Sainik Welfare & RSB in or before March 2020.
