Itanagar, Feb 24: Arunachal Wushu athletes clinched 3 medals (1 silver & 2 bronze) in the recently concluded All India University Wushu Championship held at Jammu University, Jammu from February 13 to 17 last. 
Arunachal sent three  athletes to participate in the tournament. Miss Taug Ama clinched 1 silver under 60 KG category in Sanda event. In the Taolu event Miss Yorna Rosni bagged 2 bronze in Nanquan and Nandao style respectively. 
The Arunachal team represented Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hill, Doimukh with Ram Nopi as Coach. 
Tach Tadar, President All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association(AAPWA), lauded the athletes for bringing laurels to the state. He also stated that, our wushu players have shown their dominance in every tournament in the recent years. 
Wushu is going to be one of the favourite sports in the schools and universities of our state in the coming years. He also appealed to the state government to introduce Wushu in the state’s second Sport Academy at Miao, Changlang District to accommodate and train more players in the discipline.
