Itanagar, Feb 10: A Tabletop Exercise was conducted today here at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall which was chaired by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar and attended by various high-ranking officials.
Commissioner (Home), Commissioner (PWD), Secretary (DM), IGP, SP (Telecom), SP (F&ES)-cum-Nodal Officer SDRF, Commandant 12th BN NDRF, Director (Civil Aviation), Director (DM), Commandant (ITBP), representatives from Army, Air Force, BRO, members of Incident Response Teams (IRTs) and Observers from Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) attended the meeting. Deputy Commissioners and District Level Incident Response Teams also attended through video conferencing.
Brigadier Kuldip Singh from NDMA, GoI who was the Resource Person for the Tabletop Exercise gave a complete briefing on the sequences for the State-wide Mega Mock Exercise which will be conducted simultaneously in all 26 districts on February 11 from 10 am onwards.
Common people have been requested not to panic when they hear sirens and cooperate and participate by performing “Drop-Cover-Hold” in their respective places of stay.
Further, debriefing for the Mega Mock Exercise will be held from 2:30 pm onwards also on February 11 at the CS Conference Hall through video conferencing with all the districts with support and assistance from NIC. DDM PR
