ITANAGAR, Aug 1: State Emporium cum Artifact house constructed with the support of North Eastern Council (NEC) and State Government will be inaugurated on August 7 next coinciding with the 5th National Handloom Day celebration by Tumke Bagra, Minister Textile & Handicrafts in presence dignitaries from NEC, Shillong and State Government.
The facility is expected to mitigate the problem of marketing of local handloom & handicrafts products. The (G+3) building will have the provision to display Handloom & Handicrafts products from all North Eastern States and will have lift provisions and parking lot. Textile department State Central Emporium will also be inaugurated on the same day.
5 day exhibition on local handloom and handicrafts will be the main attraction of the programme.
On the occasion of "Handloom Day" State award for best three handloom weavers and best three handicraft artisans will be announced and cash, memento, certificate will be given to awardees. Newsdesk
