ITANAGAR, Sep 8: The newly elected MLAs of National People’s Party and its newly inducted National General Secretary were felicitated by the party’s Arunachal unit here at a private hotel on September 7 last.
Advisor to Chief Minister of Meghalaya, National General Secretary I/c Arunachal Pradesh & MLA Thomas Sangma and State President Gicho Kabak felicitated the newly elected MLAs Tapuk Taku, Mutchu Mithi, Tarin Dakpe, Gokar Basar, National General Secretary & MLA Mutchu Mithi and National Secretary & Ex. MLA Paknga Bage on the occasion which was followed by a party meeting that continued till 11pm.
Thomas Sangma while congratulating the newly elected MLAs appreciated the state office bearers for their hard work which has resulted in NPP securing 16 per cent of votes in the recent Parliament & Assembly elections and elevation to the status of a national political party. Giving credit to the State NPP for this feat, he assured a plot of land for establishment of a permanent party office in Arunachal Pradesh and full support for strengthening the party organization. While replying to the points raised by speakers, he assured to take up the issues with National President Conrad K Sangma immediately and unveiled the plan of conducting coordination meetings involving state and central leadership every three months.
State President Gicho Kabak gave an overview of the party organization in state and urged the elected MLAs to cooperate with party workers for growth of party organization in Arunachal. Speaking on the occasion, all the MLAs while assuring their full cooperation in this regard urged the central leadership to maintain close coordination with the state NPP leadership. Reiterating that NPP is the lone political party in Northeast nurturing regional aspirations with a national outlook, ex-MLA and National Secretary Paknga Bage appealed the state’s youths to join the party with the objective of ‘One Northeast One Voice’.
Among others, ex-MLA & State Working President Pani Taram, State Vice-President-cum-Spokesperson Nima Sangey Saling, former Minister & Vice-President Anok Wangsa, Vice-Presidents Rodhum Singhu, Karto Kaye & Aju Khonjuju, General Secretaries Kibi Kali & Porchu Tamin, State Women President Laxmi Rimo and Vice-President-cum-Spokesperson State NPP Women’s Front Washi Yalam also spoke on the occasion.
State office bearers, youth & women frontal wings, City President and some of the District Presidents also attended the programme. NPP PR
