ITANAGAR, Sep 17: A One Day State Level Workshop on Angikaar- an awareness campaign for social behavioral change management for the beneficiaries of PMAY (U) was conducted by the Department of UD and Housing on Tuesday here at the Dorjee Khandu Memorial Convention Centre.
The workshop was chaired by Chief Engineer, UD and Housing, Er. Taring Darang who encouraged PMAY (U) beneficiaries of the state to participate and be a part of the social change through convergence with other flagship programmes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala & Ujala Schemes etc. State Level Nodal Officer for PMAY (U) Er. Marcony Potom highlighted the importance of the awareness campaign and the role that must be played by the officers of State Level Technical Cell and City Level Technical Cell in creating massive state-wide awareness regarding Angikaar. Chief Executive Officer, Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY Dr. Tana Takum elaborated on Ayushman Bharat scheme as well as CM Arogya Arunachal Yojana where he highlighted the health insurance benefits that can be availed by the beneficiaries of PMAY (U) through inter-convergence of the programmes. Deputy Director, Department of Food and Civil Supplies Gautam Mibang highlighted the benefits available under UJJWALA scheme wherein LPG gas connections may be availed by PMAY (U) beneficiaries.
It can be recalled that ‘Angikaar’ was launched by MoS, Housing & Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri on August 29 last in New Delhi with the objective of embracing the best practices in water & energy conservation, waste management, health, tree plantation, sanitation & hygiene amongst the beneficiaries of PMAY (U) through the three basic steps of community mobilization, convergence and series of state-wise IEC activities. The nation-wide campaign will be flagged off on October 2, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and will continue till December 10, the Human Rights Day.
Department of UD and Housing is the nodal agency for implementation of PMAY (U) in Arunachal Pradesh and the workshop was attended by the departmental officers and experts from State Level Technical Cell and City Level Technical Cell from all the 33 urban towns of the state
