ITANAGAR, Sep 20: Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mama Natung kicked off 5th State Level Boxing Championship here today in presence of MLA Koloriang, Lokam Tassar and other dignitaries at general ground, Ganga village, Itanagar.
Organized by the Ganga Boxing Club (GBC) under the aegis of Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association, at least 157 participants both men and women from 9 districts are participating in the championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Natung appreciated the organizers for giving a platform to the budding talents from the state. ‘Everyone knows that our state is full of talent especially in sports and our government is here to ensure that every sportsperson in any discipline gets equal opportunities to prove themselves.’
Boxing is one of the most practical sports where you need strength, skill, stamina, and presence of mind to beat your opposition, said the Minister while appealing the participants to maintain sportsmen spirit. Further, he also assured the organizers and budding boxers to extend all possible help for the growth of boxing in the state.
