ITANAGAR, Jun 24: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) observed the ‘Shaheedon Ko Salam Divas’ here at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan on Friday to pay homage to those 20 soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting the Chinese aggression in Eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley.
Addressing the gathering, General Secretary APCC Toko Mina while informing that the homage paying ceremony is being organised after direction from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), questioned the contradictory statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of External Affairs over the Chinese intrusion.
While extending homage to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifices, Mina also questioned the BJP government for sending the Indian Army without weapons in the troubled zone. “Our Army fought bravely without any weapons, whereas the Chinese were fully armed,” APCC General Secretary remarked.
A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the slain officers and soldiers.
