Itanagar, Jan 12: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) taking a clear stand in congruence with the ideology of the Indian National Congress (INC) as reiterated during Saturday’s CWC meeting at the national capital, has demanded that Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 should be withdrawn immediately.
In a press release issued today APCC said that PM Modi’s & BJP's visionless policies and programmes have already destroyed the country in every aspect, with economy and GDP at lowest levels, unemployment highest in 45 years and failure to ensure women’s safety- all bringing international embarrassments. However, Modi & BJP are still determined in their attempts to divide the nation through CAA, the release said. The divisive, communal, anti-people and anti-constitutional CAA have put the country burning and ceaseless force and police brutality have been going unabated, APCC alleged, adding that common people, senior citizens and students have been paraded like criminals and beaten up mercilessly on roads, campuses and custodies. As many as 25 people have lost their lives to police and BJP hooligans’ brutality across the country for exercising their constitutional rights, the release added.
APCC strongly condemns such savage use of state power to suppress and subjugate the voice of the people, the release read.
