ITANAGAR, Apr 21: BJP Arunachal Pradesh has welcomed the historic decision of Prime Minister Modi to ban red beacon light from government vehicles thereby ending the VIP culture of the Congress era.  This great symbolic move on the part of NDA Government reflects   the major paradigm shift in the mindset   and values of the political leaders who are in power now. This is will end the symbolic divide in between the common people and the so called VIPs, the party said in a release today.

Terming the decision as a huge departure from elitist culture of earlier times, State BJP President Tapir Gao opined that this shows the sincere intention of PM Modi to bring in egalitarian values and practices in the country.   ‘This will bring about major psychological shift in how the common people will view public office holders from now on,’ he said while opining that the wind of change is now blowing across the political landscape of the country. The elitist and exclusivist VIP culture of earlier time is a thing of past now. From now on it will be service oriented culture where Ministers, MLAs and Government Officials have to essentially view themselves as servant of the people, Gao said.

The party also highly appreciated the proactive action of Chief Minister Pema Khandu for swiftly removing the red beacons from all his official vehicles as soon as the decision was taken in the Union Cabinet.
