ITANAGAR, Mar 7:  The state BJP has stood strongly in support of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the day after all opposition parties including Congress, NPP, PPA and JDS submitted memorandum to the Governor demanding his resignation over the PRC violence. It has also urged the opposition to stop playing politics on the closed PRC issue.
Alleging the memorandum to the Governor as political stunt, spokesperson state BJP-cum -Vice President,   Dominic Tadar claimed that thePRC issue was started by Congress only.  He also accepted that  there was genuine protest  against PRC  on 22 February last but  with vested interest  Congress misled the youths and  taking advantage of the issue, incited protesters to go on massive rampage. Youths were provoked, misled and misinformed, even school going students were used for creating unrest and at the end three lives were lost, he said.
Further, Tadar  added  that there is video evidence where the Congress Chief Takam Sanjoy has clearly supported for PRC to Non-APST but is now targeting the BJP. Moreover, Takam Sanjoy  was also the chairman of JHPC during Congress led government.
“Our government has only reconstituted the Joint High Power Committee as per the directives of the  court and accordingly  placed the JHPC report for discussion only in the assembly and there was no bill, no resolution and nothing about the PRC to Non APST,” clarified Tadar.
He also alleged that, after inciting and igniting violence, Congress went to Delhi and conducted press conference demanding President’s rule, which proved that the agenda is engineered. There is no question of resignation of CM, DyCM and the MoS on the grounds created by the vested interest of the political parties, clarified the spokesperson.
Paying tribute to the departed souls, Vice President Tame Phassang said opposition has no genuine issue to raise and hence took lieu of the deterioration of law and order created by them to demand resignation of CM, DyCM and MoS Home Kiren Rijiju.
When Chief Minister called for all-party meeting observing the law and order situation during the PRC protest none of the opposition parties turned up for the meeting, whereas  community based organizations, students organizations attended the same, and  the opposition is  now playing political gimmick to gain support for the upcoming election, Phassang alleged.
PRC issue is a closed chapter, as government has already issued Gazette Notification and even on the day of protest Chief Minister has informed officially not to table the PRC report in the Assembly. So we strongly condemn Congress and other political parties for playing politics on the PRC issue, added VP BJP.
Phassang further appealed the public and youths  not to be deceived by the vested political interests but come forward and join hands for peace, tranquility and development of the state.
