ITANAGAR, Sep 23: Arunachal Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha celebrated the passage of Women Reservation Bill “Nari Shakti Vandan  Adhiniyam” in both houses of Parliament in the just concluded special session of the Parliament. Women in large numbers gathered at the BJP party HQ, Itanagar today, including beneficiaries of various government schemes to extend their appreciation to the Prime Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Biyuram Wahge, MLA cum State BJP President appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the bold decision.  The women reservation bill seeking to secure 33% seat reservation for women in parliament and state assembly is a historic step undertaken by BJP government to empower women in law making and running the administration in the state and the country. Wahge said the BJP fully supports and welcomes such initiatives and said that Modi is working hard for all round development of society and welfare of women folk in the country.  
Women are playing important role in  society and women's participation in politics through reservation is essential for the development of democratic societies, he said adding 'when women are represented in political leadership, they bring diverse perspectives'.
Kohman K Ngemu, State President Mahila Morcha, said that Mahila morcha is all efficient and ready to take  responsibility in days to come in all fronts.
She appreciated Chief Minister Pema Khandu for effort to implement programme and policies for the empowerment of women in the state.
