ITANAGAR, May 13:The passing of the GST bill by the State Legislative Assembly on Friday has been heralded as a historic one by BJP, Arunachal Pradesh. While extending heartiest congratulations to Chief Minister Pema Khandu for being one of the very first states to pass the GST Bill in the country, State BJP President, Tapir Gao, opined that it will greatly ease doing of business in a consumer State like Arunachal Pradesh.

Gao also expressed deep appreciation to Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein and his team of officers of Finance Department for their hard work and tabling the GST bill in a record time to be passed in the State Assembly making it the second in the north-eastern region after Assam to do so.

Gao, also congratulated for commencement of functioning of the Legislative Assembly from the new Legislative Assembly Building - the construction of which has been expedited by the Pema Khandu government. On the occasion, Gao also expressed his deep reverence and fond remembrance of Late Dorjee Khandu, former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for being the initiator of the Legislative Assembly Building and Civil Secretariat.

‘Though Dorjee Khandu is not in our midst, the two colossal structures of State Legislative Assembly and Civil Secretariat will remain as monuments depicting the enduring contribution of Late Khandu to the development  of Arunachal Pradesh,’ he said in a press statement.
