ITANAGAR, Nov 11: The dilemma between Police department and the agitating 183 Arunachal Pradesh Police Compassionate ground candidates came to an end today after a meeting between Home Minister Bamang Felix and the candidates.
Felix clarified that department has filled up the vacant posts as per the criteria laid by Administrative Reforms. “As per the norms, department has to adjust the family members of the department in Group C Posts whoever lost their family members in the line of duty and in other condition,” he said. He also added that the confusion was due to the backlog for the last 7 to 8 years in the Police department for compassionate ground. “There were 325 seats available, however, the department had received at least 528 applications which is more than the vacant posts and has recruited the candidates as per these vacant posts,” Felix stated. Convincing the 183 candidates, he also disclosed that at least 53 more posts are expected to come up under compassionate ground in coming days and as per norms, department will fill the said posts amongst the 183 candidates whoever fulfills the criteria .
Meanwhile, the candidates have expressed their satisfaction over the assurance given by the Home Minister. “Minister has informed us that the department will recruit the candidates as soon as the department get requirement and availability of vacant posts and has assured us that he will speak to the Chief Minister to increase the posts under Compassionate ground,” stated one of the candidate.
